Hoymiles Sponsors Solar Energy Voluntary Activity Massen-Balkon-Solar-Upcycling in Germany to Advance Solar Education in Communities
Freiburg, Germany, July 2024 – Hoymiles is proud to have sponsored the Massen-Balkon-Solar-Upcycling event, a pioneering large-scale voluntary activity aimed at promoting renewable solar energy by letting participants try out PV installations firsthand. Taking on 150 participants and over 40 volunteers, this non-profit event not only helped common residents to know more about how solar works, but also set a great example of sustainable energy practices. By offering microinverters and technical support on site, Hoymiles is also delivering on its motto to make open energy accessible for all.
A voluntary event to advance renewable energy
The prominent event was organized by Balkon Solar e.V., a non-profit association committed to advancing the use of solar technology in residential areas, and Verein Solare Zukunft, an organization dedicated to expanding renewable energy development by offering training services for schools, daycare centers, government agencies and companies.
Altogether 155 233 wp and 140 180 wp solar panels were used in the event to set up 200 sets of PV systems. During the event, 150 participants, mostly local residents, environmentalists and media representatives, paired together to assemble the PV systems by themselves under the instruction of 40 volunteers. They were excited to share how they were eager to embrace solar energy to cut utility bills and increase property value. Some were amazed at how easy it is to go solar and expressed their plan to build their own system in the future.
Hoymiles contribution: Microinverters and technical support
Hoymiles greatly appreciated this charitable and ambitious activity for raising awareness of sustainable energy use and educating the public about solar knowledge. The company sponsored 110 HMS-400-1T microinverters and sent two technical support engineers on site to guide system configuration and answer technical questions. Our plug-and-play products made the installation extremely quick and easy. Additionally, the company supplied 50 Polo shirts and a package of souvenirs for volunteers, further showcasing its support and engagement.
Hoymiles ensured the event’s success and demonstrated its expertise in solar technology. By participating in this collective effort, Hoymiles has reinforced its dedication to making renewable energy accessible and affordable for all.
